Artist's Description

The full title is "Glory of the Morning, February 6, 2021." This is image ID #20210206_CopyrightKilmer_4742 parallax. At the crack of dawn on February 6, 2021, I photographed the sun rising over the level horizon created by some distant building. Threads of the trees in front of the sun are nearly obliterated by its brightness. Feathery streaks of orange, yellow, purple and blue hover over the double sun as seen from my balcony window in Alexandria, Virginia. I used minimal processing simply to make the scene look more like what I remembered. I also sharpened the trees, which had gone a bit soft because I focused on the clouds.

Miriam earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting and Printmaking and her Masters in Theology. She has operated her own fine arts business since 1979. Over the years, she has developed a variety of distinctive styles, influenced by the medium, subject matter, and purpose of the artwork, as well as her widening outlook and diverse environments. She now specializes in pastel, photography, computer graphics, and web design.
